This class of disease includes but not limited to coronary heart disease, also known as coronary or ischaemic heart disease, heart failure, hypertensive heart disease, cardiomyopathy, cardiac dysrhythmias, cor pulmonale, valvular heart disease, inflammatory heart disease, stroke, cerebrovascular disease and peripheral arterial disease (Kelly 74). Usually, patients are not aware that they are prone or already have the diseases of this nature until they undergo a thorough medical examination.
